He graduated from the Strasbourg Law School and was sworn in before the Strasbourg Court of First Instance in 1991. He is specialised in real estate leasing - for which he teaches at the Strasbourg Law School - and in assisting public actors. He is a member of the family law unit of the Centre de Recherches, d'Information et de Documentation Notariales de Lyon. He speaks German as well as the Alsatian dialect.
